Liu Wen is widely known as China’s first Supermodel and a pioneer in the fashion industry.She was born on January 27, 1988 in China and discovered in Beijing in 2006. She came to Paris and soon moved to New York where she shot her first campaign with Steven Meisel. EARLY LIFE:

Born in Yongzhou, Hunan province, China; Liu Wen has achieved multiple firsts as a model. She got the title of the first model to take part in Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She also became the first East Asian model to be listed on the Forbes magazine as one of the highest-paid models.

Liu Wen was born into a simple family where she showed immense interest in modeling from a young age. With her mother’s support, she tried and pursued the mannerisms and attitudes of professional models. Wen attracted the attention from modeling agencies on many platforms. Gradually, she focused on a career in modeling on a full-time basis. Wen worked with various brands including Viktor & Roff and Karl Lagerfeld in 2007-2008, leading her with international exposure and then she left Beijing for Paris. In February 2008, Liu made her debut on international projects where she represented European brands like the Burberry Group PLC and Trussardi. In 2009, Wen won the title of the first East Asian model to take part in Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Liu Wen enjoys modeling and working in the fashion industry. As a career choice, she thinks that working as a model gives her immense satisfaction. In 2005, Liu started her modeling career when she entered the New Silk Road World Model Contest. Soon Liu began working full-time model and became a national success story after working with fashion magazines like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar in China. In 2008, she was signed with an agency and participated in Paris Fashion Week. In 2009, Liu Wen appeared in 74 shows in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. Here, she became the first ever model to have the highest number of shows that season. In the same year, she became the first woman of Chinese descent to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. In 2013, Liu became the first Asian to be listed in the top five on Forbes’ world’s highest-paid models.
